Lets go for a session next week! :)

To be filled with independent animation clips soon…

Upcoming independent animator, Dominic Maximilian Foong will soon present to the public his exceptional work entitled (in deep monotonous symphony) , “The Bouncing Ball”. It is a culmination of hours of hardwork, blood, perspiration and profusely releasing more of the lovely ‘S’ word which came out spontaneously like that of a Chinese pig but never mind that. It is a piece that investigates and demystifies the metaphysical process that partakes whilst existing in the physical realm of drawing and creating in the imaginative realm of art. It is a soulful and insightful masterpiece that lasts for only (in monotonous Singaporean tone), ONE to TWO SECONDS ONLY la….

*Sians*…

Will post up the pencil tests soon for your viewing pleasure and for laughing at this idiotic freak. (but the plus point is…got chio bu…muahahahahahahhahahahahahaha..oops.)

ESPLANADE TRAINING PROGRAMME

Technical Theatre Programmes
What makes a successful stage production is not merely what performers do on stage. The happenings out of the audience’s view and how all the different parts of a production come together seamlessly is just as important. Making this happen is no easy task and the production team is tasked with this key responsibility. The Esplanade Technical Theatre Programme is an initiative to develop and upgrade the technical skills in the theatre industry. The programme, organized by Esplanade since 1999 caters to technical professionals in the theatre industry, students of theatre and technicians of other industries who would like to start a career in this industry.

TRANSPORTATION & THE MISMATCHED GIRL

Agni Kootthu (Theatre of Fire) :
Transportation

  • Dates: 18 & 19 Aug 2007
  • Times: 8pm
  • Venue: The Substation Theatre
  • Admission: $20 (Available at The Substation Box-office)

TRANSPORTATION explores the pain of the exilic journey – penal
transportation – migration, experience of enslavement, forced removal for
labour, oppression and exploitation, focusing on this as both an individual
and as a collective experience. The play captures the displacement and
suffering, cultural denigration and crisis of identity that ensues from all
forms of estrangement in the colonial period in the penal convict
settlements. It reconstructs the experiences of convicts transported
overseas to prisons and penal settlements in South and Southeast Asia during
the nineteenth century to the penal settlements established by the British,
from the late eighteenth to mid-nineteenth centuries, in Southeast Asia and
the Indian Ocean.

Yang Ming:
The Mismatched Girl

  • Dates: 24 & 25 August
  • Times: 8pm
  • Venue: The Substation Theatre
  • Admission: $12 & $10 (Concession) www.gatecrash.com.sg

A whimsical play about a little girl who has the penchant of wearing mismatched slippers wherever she goes. And her sole pleasure in life is to watch the lights of the HDB flats in the night as it shines the brightest in the country. One day, an old man accidentally joins her in her mischievous pleasure. This shared pleasure of gazing at the bright lights unknowingly forges a special friendship between the both of them in one of the unlikliest places. Written by Yang Ming and directed by Gemia Foo.
