If this makes u feel better, i’ve also spent hours looking for my album (hehe), i went to KLCC and Time Square but couldn’t find … until my friend called and said she found it in Sungei Wang (thanks Kinki) … so i rushed there before it closes around 930pm …

The weird thing was me asking the guy in the store .. here’s the dialogue: ‘do you have Karen’s album?’ (hahahah – so funny) .. he said ‘yes, u want it?’ .. i was like .. ‘err, yes please …’ (i dun think he knew wat was goin on anyway cos i look very different with my plain casual wear) .. then I followed up with ‘has anyone asked for it yet?’(hahah) .. so he said ‘yeah, a few people already bought it’(yay!) … heheh, so i paid for my own CD + a free poster too …

Photo0424a

Anyway .. it’s late now, i better goto sleep (my eye-bags r like so visible now, check it out) cos i hardly got any sleep these days, nervous + excited i guess … so if u r reading tis … i’m pretty sure the CDs will be in store tis week (including spore), pls forgive my mistakei’ve never done tis before so i’m so sorry again …

I’m sorry if some of you happens to be fans of hers or something. But I can’t help but wonder what’s the rationale and motive behind putting up a friendster blog group to promote yourself. Is one using / exploiting friendster to advertise / prostitute herself to the general public and to gain a fan base? Seriously, don’t we have enough of all this adverts on pop culture all over the place? Why must this perverse form of subliminal ‘friendly’ groups that only seek to attract silly peeps who think that ‘hey anyone can be a popstar’ exist to detract people from reality?

Come on, let’s face it. To be a pop star, you gotta be young, ‘hip’ (or geeky for the American Idol 2 red haired guy..wadeva his name is) and pretty. Find me an ugly and crap looking popstar. Even if he/she is not 100% sculpted from like marble, tonnes of make up and more make up will patch up their crap faces.

So when someone (like the above upcoming star) puts up her blog and starts a group, it really makes you wonder what is she telling the public? And knowing that the public is generally not 100% media literate (I would really hate to use the word stupid, but hey you don’t call an ignorant moron stupid, stupid), what kind of lifestyle does one try to impose on our young people today?

We’re all living in this god-damned fucking materialistic world that’s already eating up so much fuel, burning gases and drilling the ozone. We don’t need any more pop stars who wish to impress upon others her zero to hero attitude. Hell, we don’t even need that many pop stars, what on earth do they do anyway? Eat fine food and drink wine in some luxurious hotel, live in a house with a hangar (rich ass John Travolta), have multiple affairs and getting laid 24-7, they just are taking up so much resources just for a bloody cd/a 3hr movie! God!

okae, you may say that anyone is allowed to post his/her comments its a free world and the internet is accomodated for the general public. So if you don’t like what I post, hit the highway there’s no need for grinding of teeth. Hey, I’m cool with that but tell that to kids who’re 12-16. Dreamy impressionable kids, you reckon there’re discerning enough? You’d think they’d actually take up stuff like

CS100 FUNDAMENTALS OF COMMUNICATION STUDIES 3.0A.U.

and spend 14 weeks trying to learn how to critically analysis and appreciate a blog. You gotta be kidding me! Blogs are tabloids to us but hey, to those ignorant and impressionable kids, it may mean the truth. So for those irresponsible bloggers out there who become rich after all that sponsorship and hype over the supposed ‘richness’ in their ‘intellectual discourse’ go kiss my ass. If you were so good at intellectual discourse, do teach me a thing or two about how can I clean up the world with individuals who use bad bimbotic/ himbotic (if there’s such a word) words in their blogs out there who talk about the dumbest things in life. Ok, sorry for the diversion. Back to this, so yes well the intention of someone who post this kinda stuff on the net could very well be an innocent/ sincere gesture. They would really want to inspire someone with their talents but lo! Freudian analysis would tell you more about their subconscious, so what’s their subconscious motive for posting such stuff?

Well, enough dissing celebrities off, not every celebrity is like that of course. You’ve got the humble young stars/starlets struggling to make a living before their big break who are really faithful to their fans, you’ve got megastars like Angelina Jolie and Bono who are trying to change the world. They’re cool. But really how many are like that? How many young star/starlets shoot up to fame, only to bask in money and forget their fans.

Have you ever listened to Eminem? Even a sincere star/starlet can never fulfill the wishes of every fan. Their devotion to work keeps ‘em from doing so. Let’s just face it…Man can never be God. So please, don’t play the idol if you can never be the perfect one, its even worse to promote and propagate yourself. 99% hardwork and 1% talent will get any potential star/starlet far, so stop polluting the minds of young people with dreams of instant fame or stardom through your ‘intimate posts’ becos’ that’s rarely the case for all of us.

1st crapping of 2007

Its 2.44am in the morning and I’m not sleeping. Hmm…that says alot about the crapping but considering that I got back home from 1 am (one-ish, as my fren would prolly say it), I guess I’m still not too far off from sleeping so yeah some of this may make sense (I hope).

Well, it all started out when I stumbled upon a webby and yay! Hooray, I stumbled into this site that announced an event that her company was participating as well. Haha~ supposed to be happy. Well, okay…I found out where the place was (hmm…I’m really wondering, am I really that stalkerishy or am I just resourceful..hmm…). It so happens that the urge to drop by is just so so so so erh herm….tempting if you like.

You see, I’ve been heading to the library like nobody’s business for the past couple of days ( its free and rather nice there really), and yup you prolly would have guessed it, the location was somewhere around that district (well, I would use the word ‘barely’ to describe somewhere which would have turned out to be nowhere but let’s just leave it as it is.) And lo! I managed to find out where the street was!

*thunderous applause* And so yesterday, I went with a couple of my good ‘ol mates, had some (subjective) fun at the library and guess what we didn’t know where to head next (reason being we were told to meet up at ten-ish…i was only 8 pm then.) we walked and walked (rather aimlessly I must add) and I took the opportunity to ask them to walk past the area!

EXCEPT that instead of walking in front of the shophouses, I walked behind them. Well so this good ‘ol mate tried to pull me to walk in front (becos’ there’s absolutely, absolutely nothing wrong with dropping by to say hello to an acquaintance, whether she is available or not is of another matter but, its a perfectly normal circumstance) BUT I CHOSE NOT to. Reason: Shy.(I may have blushed in that instant, but I don’t have a mirror. Sun tanned skin in  pale moon light doesn’t help either.)

So the morale of the story is this…prolly I don’t have guts (not really prolly cos’ its ABSOLUTELY, for Christ’s sake! L-O-S-E-R!). I figured that hmm…I would prolly have a distinct 3 hmm…form of egos if you like. There’s the ego, the super ego and the self-invented core ego. I can describe the super ego whereby the image I portray as someone who’s perhaps confident and hmm…whatever it may be (haha…so much for confidence bobo!) The ego is fragile, shy and unfortunately un-confident. Yet, however, I recognise that I can and have the ability to counter the ego and I find that this psyche is a rather ugly and perhaps overtly reassuring defense mechanism (if you like, although I would prefer to call it, personality but arrrghh! I’m no psycho student)

So anyway, if that being the case,  in the above scenario, I knew I could do it but I chose the shy route but reverted back to the confident persona after I left the area. If that being the case, am I killing myself by choosing the so-called shy route. Would it be possible to erase this ego and use the newly identified core ego as a replacement for the former? Will I become a moron (I had to use a milder word due to our wide scope of audience..heh~) if that were the case?

But is the problem lying with me or with the circumstances…(which were prolly suggested by me awhile back…going out wif her [if that is even possible, if I even bother to try] could lead to social stigma due to age difference, occupational issues, etc.) Hmm…this is what I am trying to figure myself. I prolly wouldn’t get an answer but I’m opening it to the floor.

*P.S.

the one thing I realised about personal blogs is the ambiguity. The illusion of giving someone a glimpse of his/her life, produced through sharing of personal and intimate moments which is void of a 100% accurate account, is perverse. Like what I wrote above,  is so personal and intimate, revealing them to you but keeping some vital points to myself to secure my own private space, is crazy. But we all live in a world of greys. If I really were to tell you guys who she was, the fun would be lost wouldn’t it? Ambiguity. I need to moronify myself.

Dean’s Introduction
Steve Anker

The School of Film/Video is one of the nation’s premiere colleges for studying the art of the moving image. It is singularly devoted to filmmaking as a personal, independent art form. The School is especially unique in that it promotes the studies of all major types of filmmaking: dramatic narrative, documentary, experimental live-action, character-based animation, experimental animation, multimedia, and installation. We offer four challenging programs, each one with its own specialized curriculum focusing on specific areas in filmmaking. At the same time, all four share an ethos in combining rigorous practical training with theoretical inquiry, hands-on production with aesthetic reflection.

The Program in Film & Video provides artists with a dynamic laboratory for producing new forms of narrative, documentary and experimental work in both film and video. Our internationally renowned Programs in Experimental Animation and Character Animation give students an excellent foundation in both technique and creative thinking and prepare them to produce work at the very forefront of animated filmmaking. The Film Directing Program focuses on the fundamentals of dramatic storytelling and theater practice but also calls for innovative approaches to staging drama for the screen. In each program, we emphasize artistic and intellectual boldness and encourage all students to push the boundaries of their chosen media. As a result, graduates of the School of Film/Video have distinguished themselves in every area of independent and commercial filmmaking. Their work has been represented extensively at major festivals and museums around the world as much as it has been in the film, television and animation industries.

The richness of the educational experience at the School of Film/Video is based on four elements. The first is a body of self-motivated, intellectually curious students who are ready to break new ground. The second is an outstanding faculty of professional artists and technicians who share their knowledge and experience with passion and generosity. Third is an extensive and constantly upgraded inventory of facilities and equipment. Fourth, and certainly not least, is the unique cross-pollination of the different art forms and disciplines at CalArts. This generates a lively and highly stimulating creative environment–one that allows every student to expand the scope of his or her cultural experience and, in the process, become a better artist.
I want to get there too. Heh~

Cheers mate.

Grr~ Lit essay & Straits Commercial

Issue no. 1:

Once upon a time, I used to love essay writings..until I keep screwingit up for my assignments. That’s not to say that I hate ‘em but generally I’m afraid of these stuff. Sighs. And guess what there’s an essay for Lit’s mid term assignment. Sian~ Life can be so cruel. Hah~

But anyways, I just hope things would turn out fine yea~….

Issue no. 2:

I love Straits Commercial and I hate Art Friend. I don’t understand how Art Friend (AF) can have such lousy customer service as compared to Straits. Its amazing how you can ask one attendant where to find conte creta colour and he just disses you off by telling you AF doesn’t sell shit when the bloody brand is just right in front of him. We don’t know wth is that shit but we do know its in AF so how on earth can you tell me you don’t sell it here?! Its so damn irresponsible!!! However, Straits has this very personalised service. They actually ask what you want and would even demonstrate the usage of the item. How nice! Yes yes, I do understand the difference between a large corporate franchise VS a small enterprise but hey, you don’t have to treat your customers that way.

Its not that I do not appreciate the economies of scale (not that AF’s stuff are that cheap anyway, they carry all the branded suff for goodness’ sake!), I love NTUC, Coldstorage and even Carrefour but hey you don’t see employees of these big chains tell their customers ,” sorry we don’t sell your Sin Sin Tangy but yet a little spicy (its called garlic) Chilli Sauce here” when the Sin Sin chilli sauce is actually on the opposite rack, the customer is just looking for that particular flavour (which I admit maybe hard to find, due to inadequate knowledge of the product). I mean, at least the poor guy tries to help you.

“No, not me. I’m too busy for ignorant students who only ask for measly things. Go away”. That’s what they’re trying to tell me. Arrogant morons. Well, bottom line is I hate the service at Art Friend but sighs…reality sinks in when you realise that they carry tonnes of stuff that you can’t get anywhere else, even Straits. The offsets of monopoly…sighs

So well, I will buy whatever I can from Straits. If circumstances prevent me from doing so, I’ll hafta bite my tongue and head to that snobbish mart called Art Friend.

Rant

Filed under: Bored..., Crap, Random — sal104 @ 9:45 pm

I hope I’m not the only one procrastinating and slacking my hours away. Sleep, slack, food equals good. Rot people, Rot. Bwahahaha. (In case anyone bash me up, I’m JOKING.)

Um. I better redeem myself. Remember to do homework hor. Balance work and play ah. Cause last minute work ain’t fun. I think this mainly applies to myself though. Hah.

By the way I had this really absurb thought. Maybe one day gr8ight can even become an online art community. Cool huh. But cannot lah. Doubt we’ll have the time.

By the way this is BL. :D
